Description: Cortec’s Cooling Loop Croc is a powerful combination of contacting and Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI®) powder packaged in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water-soluble bags. It was developed for the startup of cooling towers that have been shut down for an extended period of time. The Cooling Loop Croc provides temporary corrosion protection along with cleaning of organic materials such as biofilm during startup. It can be used independently or in systems where the Cooling Loop Gator® has been applied for layup.

CorroLogic® CUI Inhibitor Injection is a high-temperature 100% Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI®) for protection against corrosion under insulation (CUI). When injected directly into insulating material, the corrosion inhibiting vapor migrates from the injection point along the pipe to form a hydrophobic protective layer on metal surfaces below.

CorroLogic® CUI Inhibitor Injection combats corrosion caused by moisture and other corrosive media that enter insulation after water barrier wraps or jackets are compromised or when condensation builds up, often unnoticed, beneath the insulation. Description: S-8 is a unique product formulated only from FDA listed ingredients. It can be used at low concentrations and still provide excellent corrosion protection above and below the water level and at the air/water interface. This product is especially useful for the corrosion protection of packed metallic food cans during washing or sterilization. S-8 contains a non-toxic “green” filming corrosion inhibitor that outperforms other “green” inhibitors due to its stability and ability to form a thin protective layer that will not cause sticky deposits. It also contains a Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor and is compatible with the majority of water chemistries. S-8 is registered with the NSF Nonfood Compounds Registration Program as an AX category compound acceptable for use in cleaning products used in and around food processing areas where direct food contact is not intended (Reg. #148017).

M-535 is an ashless oil-based corrosion inhibiting formula designed for petroleum and synthetic lubricants in turbine, hydraulic, circulating, compressor, and gear systems during layup or intermittent operation. M-535 protects the system from corrosion caused by condensed moisture and trapped water that could otherwise lead to the failure of equipment components. Corrosion inhibitors in M-535 protect metal surfaces with which they are in direct contact and release molecules in the vapor phase. These Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors form a protective molecular layer on metal surfaces above the fluid level, allowing economical and efficient rust protection at a low dose. Also, M-535 provides outstanding non-staining properties and is effective in most hydrocarbon based lubricants (including naphthenic, paraffinic, PAO, etc.).

Also available in a higher viscosity version, M-535 HV.

Cortec’s Boiler Lizard® Plus is an easy-to-use, two-part complete preservation kit for dry layup of boilers. The kit combines a Boiler Lizard®, well-known for easy and effective dry layup, with the
Boiler Egg, which activates at the end of layup to protect against oxygen pitting at a critical time until the boiler reaches normal operating conditions. Boiler Lizard® Plus is designed
to provide continuous vaporphase corrosion protection throughout boiler internals after a boiler has been drained for seasonal or long-term layup. The Boiler Egg will lie intact and dormant until the boiler is started, then will dissolve and begin to scavenge oxygen and passivate metal during the initial filling of the boiler with makeup water, which is often unheated and not chemically treated.

Cortec’s Boiler Egg is designed to scavenge oxygen and passivate metal during the initial filling of makeup water after seasonal or long-term dry layup of boilers. The Boiler Egg comes in an easy-to-handle pouch that is readily dissolved upon water contact, releasing the active ingredients as the boiler is being filled. It protects against the threat of oxygen pitting during the critical startup phase of a boiler when the makeup water is normally not pre-heated and the operating chemical program has not yet been implemented.
