Case History Spotlight #616: Refrigerator Coil Dip Tank

December 29, 2023

Due to the strong solvent smell, hazards, and inadequate corrosion protection of the solvent-based paint they were using, a refrigerator coil manufacturer decided to switch to VpCI®-386. They kept this water-based paint in their dip tank, circulating the product to keep it mixed and covering the tank when not dipping the coils. As a result, the manufacturer was able to reduce their VOCs while also achieving superior corrosion protection.

Case History Spotlight #536: Croatian Overpass Preservation

October 31, 2023

A Croatian overpass needed corrosion protection and a better appearance. The concrete surface was therefore cleaned and dried before workers applied a solution of MCI®-2020 Powder by brush and left it to dry for two days. The final step was to apply MCI® Architectural Coating (tinted grey) for additional protection and an improved appearance in the natural landscape.

Case History Spotlight #461: Corrosion Control for Ice Arena

October 26, 2023

Cortec M-605 PS Case History Spotlight

A university in New York used a 30% calcium chloride brine solution in cooling systems at its ice arena. Unfortunately, the high chloride concentration was causing carbon steel components to corrode at a rapid rate. By adding M-605 PS to the brine solution at 0.5%, the university was able to reign in corrosion rates to an acceptable level. Due to the success of the additive, the ice arena continued using M-605 PS in its cooling system for ongoing corrosion protection.
